Hall Visit

This past weekend, Berkley's parents, Berkley and Barbara, came to visit. We had an awesome time and fit a lot into the long weekend. We started out by going to Saguaro National Park, which is right up the street from us. It was really pretty - I think we're starting to see this desert as beautiful.... in it's own way.

These are the mountains behind our house.

Then we headed to the Pima Air and Space Museum, where they had thousands of airplanes. Very interesting!

Tanner even got to fly one.

We visited the San Xavier Mission. It was amazing!

A little creepy, but cool.

There were thousands of candles all over the grounds of this place. Tanner was fascinated and managed to blow a few of them out. Whoops!

We also went to the Titan II Missle Site. It's this huge underground silo where they kept this missle during the Cold War. The bomb on this thing was 650 times more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb. It was amazing to see. Everything is still how it was in the 60's when it was built.

Our last big stop was in Tombstone. Very fun. A tourist heaven. They have really monopolized on this one gunfight that took place there. We got to learn all about Wyatt Earp and the wild west. Here's a picture of the gunfight re-enactment... Tanner wasn't too scared of the gun shooting.

Nice!
We had a great time! Thanks for coming! And an invitation goes out to anyone else that wants to come visit the exciting, thrilling Tucson area!!!

Our house

Everyone keeps asking to see pictures of our house here in Tucson. So, here it is! But, it's just a rental, people. Hopefully we won't be here too long.

Looks like every other Arizona stucco house.

It's a little cramped in Tanner's room with all this furniture.

And the reason we got this house: GRASS in the backyard. It's pretty hard to find this much grass and trees here. It's awesome because Tanner can play outside (when it's not too hot!)
So, there you go.
We miss our house in Philly, but here in the west houses actually have "luxuries" like garages, pantries, walk-in closets and master bathrooms. We're loving it!

Visit to Prescott Valley

For Labor Day Weekend, we made a quick trip up to Prescott Valley, AZ to see Craig and Christina, friends from Philly. It was great to catch up and reminisce about Philly. They showed us a great time. Even took us to this lake to feed the ducks.

Craig showed Berkley how to change the brakes on our car and put new windshield wipers on. It was very manly. Craig also gave Berkley his annual haircut. Now that Berkley has a real job, I guess he is going to have to get his hair cut more often and actually pay for it!

Trip to Utah

Tanner and I took a nice last minute trip to Utah for one last summer visit.

We went to Midway and fed the horses. Tanner was fearless.

Went to a cool indoor water park in South Jordan for the Hoggan Reunion.

Headed to Vernal for cousin time with Pearson and Bryant.

Saw the Vernal flowers on the streets. Love the dinosaur.

And had lots of fun at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Tanner and I even had our first experience picking green beans in the garden.

It was an amazing trip spending time with family. Thanks moms and dads.

Bored

This is what life has come to living in the heat. Since we are indoors a lot more now, Tanner has to find new things to do. Finger paint with yogurt? Sure.

Catch Up

I probably shouldn't bother blogging, since I am always so far behind. But, if anyone still checks this thing, this is what we've been up to. We packed up our house in Philly and said our goodbyes. Much thanks to Berk Sr. for helping Berkley pack and drive across the country in our moving truck. I miss our house...

Tanner and I flew to beautiful Vernal to hang out with the Halls.

We had lots of good cousin time.

And 4-wheeling time.

Thanks Barbara and Berk for letting us have so much fun on the 4-wheelers.

Berkley and his Dad made it to Vernal and then we headed down to California for more fun cousin time.

Tanner, Brady, Ryder, Cade, Jacob

And good beach fun...

And the highlight of the trip for Tanner was a trip to Knott's Camp Snoopy. This place is seriously perfect for kids Tanner's age.

Thanks Grandma

and Grandpa

I also got to see the old group as we said goodbye to Aubrey. Good luck in Brazil, dude!

And this is what we came to Tucson to find... all our stuff packed into this storage unit. Thanks to all our parents who helped us with this move. We hope we won't have to do a move again for a while!

I'll post pictures of the new place soon. We're still unpacking!
